JONO KENYON NAKED IN "STEP DAVE"
Jono was born and raised in Essex, England.He graduated in 2010. A couple of months out of drama school, he was picked up for his first professional theatre gig, Auckland Theatre Company’s Mary Stuart, where he starred as Mortimer alongside Robyn Malcolm. In 2012 he was cast again by ATC as 'Demetrius' in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Shortly after Jono went on to play the loveable Constable Tom Ryan in the fifth season of Go Girls .
The following year turned out to be the best preparation for the role of ‘Dave’ Jono could have asked for. A lack of acting work saw him working part time at Chapel Bar on Ponsonby Road, living on $300 a week, training hard in the gym and generally going about a 23 year old man’s business. It all came to unexpected fruition when he won his first lead role in a television series.
